The warm summer weather has meant our ice cream sales have been brisk. We try to have something to please all tastes from fruity lollies to delicious chocolate treats and my personal favourite, hand made lemon meringue ice cream from Chichester based Caroline’s dairy which has a zesty opening flavour followed by sweet meringue pieces which melt on the tongue, a must try.
For football fans we have a great selection of beers and snacks to enjoy whilst watching the World Cup, in particular a range of local beers from Riverside brewery in Upper Beeding or for those who enjoy a glass of something with bubbles we have a new Sparkling English wine “Fizz” made with English grown grapes at Divergent winery in Worthing.
Margaret and Annie have been doing a wonderful job coordinating our dedicated team of volunteers and I believe there have been some big strides made in simplifying the huge task of managing the rota. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their hard work and support. Annie is coming to the end of her contract but I am delighted that she will still be involved in the shop as part of the volunteer team. I would also like to thank all the volunteers for their incredible enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile, often stepping in to offer additional help at the last minute and often stay over their allotted hours .I am greatly humbled by the goodwill and very grateful, the shop really couldn’t function without you all.
